The Rothschild Boulevard is a very major and historic avenue in the center of Tel Aviv. Being the first avenue in Tel Aviv, and one of the first streets in the city, Rothschild holds a lot of history and memories of modern-day Israel.

The avenue was founded in 1910, at the beginning of the establishment of Tel Aviv. Built from south to north, the idea was to create a fancy boulevard to resemble those of the biggest cities in the world.
Named after Edmond de Rothschild, an important figure who supported Zionist settlers in the late 19th and early 20th century. People worked hard to plant trees in what was then a dry, sandy area.
Many important figures, including Churchill and Rothschild himself, visited when construction was complete. In 1948, Israel's independence was declared from Dizengoff House, located on this very avenue.
Wow, there's so much to see here! Food, chill and relaxation, architecture, history, culture, and much more!
The central part of the boulevard is filled with an incredible amount of cafés and restaurants! Traditional Israeli cuisine, Middle Eastern, Asian, Italian, fast food, vegan, healthy — you name it! Rothschild Avenue has it all.
Tel Aviv's White City is a UNESCO World Heritage site because of the Bauhaus style, and Rothschild is one of its most famous locations. Buildings here give a modern atmosphere of the 1920s and 30s, while recent tall buildings and skyscrapers create a microcosmos of the last 100 years of architecture.
Despite being one of the busiest places in Tel Aviv, the wide promenade with its many trees provides shady areas throughout. Benches are everywhere, and somehow there's always a calming feeling when you take a slow walk or sit. The northern part is greener and less busy!
At the northern end sits HaBima — Israel's national theatre and one of the most important cultural institutions. The sight of people relaxing, eating their meals, or reading a book is common here. A perfect place to experience Tel Aviv life.
